I thought I would use my blog this week to talk about the
charity I am raising money for my challenge.
A lot of people read my blog but I’m unsure how many know
the reasons for why I’m going a whole year without alcohol.
Claire House is a children’s hospice based in Clatterbridge
on the Wirral (not far from Liverpool).
The hospice provides respite; end-of-life and
bereavement care for children and young adults with complex medical needs,
up to the age of 23. They are also there to support the whole family, providing
support and counselling for as long as is needed.
Every single day, the hospice needs over £6,500
to cover its cost of care - with administration costs, that’s £2.5million a
year.
