7 months was reached on Saturday and what better way to
celebrate than with a bottle of wine. Non-alcoholic of course J
Cheryl and I went out for a meal at The Gallery in Chester
and on our arrival we were greeted by the manager and an old school friend,
Paul, who showed us to our table. Waiting for us was an ice bucket with a
bottle of wine in it. Paul removed the bottle and filled our glasses. The wine
was good, a taste of Schloer but without the fizz.
The food was excellent, especially the chocolate fondant
dessert, and it was a nice touch to have wine with our meal. It made a lovely change
from Cola!
I did some sums the other day to work out how many pints,
calories and money spent on average I would have had in the seven months since
the challenge began.
6 pints week X 7
months = 168 pints
Average 200 Kcal per
pint X 168 pints = 33,600 Kcal
168 pints X average
£3 per pint = £504
That’s a lot of calories, no wonder my waist is looking a
bit thinner!
Hello Ian - Well done!
ReplyDeleteI did a similar annual cost calculation to encourage me to stop though did it differently as some of my drinking was done rather more socially some nights than others and involved other costs - the bigger rounds for starters and the boozy dinners and taxis out and back or the overnight stays at hotel based functions.
So my vs was:
200 days at £5=£1000
100 days at £10=£1000
50 days at £50=£2500
Total £3500
Left 5 dry days - optimistic!
That was best part of a decade ago - I fear to recalculate with beer at £3 a pint.
Good luck with your quest.
